The Ontology cryptocurrency (ONT) is a new high-performance public blockchain that incorporates a range of complete distributed ledgers and smart contracts. The Ontology framework supports public blockchain systems and is able to configure various public blockchains to interact with different applications. Ontology supports communication between network chains with different groups of protocols.
Ontology will continuously provide common modules in the underlying infrastructure for different kinds of distributed scenarios, for example, for a distributed digital identity system, a distributed data exchange protocol, and so on. Based on the specific requirements of each scenario, Ontology will offer the development of an entirely new way of interaction between the modules of the system.
Ontology uses a dual-token (ONT and ONG) model. Initially, ONT is a NEP-5 token and does not issue ONG. After the launch of the Ontology MainNet, users will be able to exchange NEP-5 ONT for ONT on the Ontology main network, which will begin to periodically issue ONG.
The Ontology project has already begun cooperation with many companies and other projects that plan to build applications for the Ontology cryptocurrency. In the future, the Ontology team plans to publish periodic reports that will additionally notify users about network updates and new projects that support the Ontology cryptocurrency.
